Nature enthusiasts will simply love it here. Bird- and wildlife spotting opportunities abound, and you can see anything from the famous moose of Canada to grizzly bears, killer whales and even crocodiles! From the haunting, remote beauty of Alaska to the razzle-dazzle of Los Angeles, a trip here is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
North America extends from the Aleutian Islands in the northwest to the narrow strip of land named the Isthmus of Panama in the south. The region lies primarily between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Cancer. It extends to within 800 kilometres of both the North Pole and the Equator and covers an area of over 24,000,000 square kilometres. North America is bound to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the east by the North Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Caribbean Sea and to the west by the North Pacific.
It is home to the following countries: Greenland, Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and the islands and territories of the Caribbean Sea and the western North Atlantic. Due to its vast size, the area’s climate is influenced by latitude. It varies from Arctic cold in the north, to tropical heat in the south. The continent is richly endowed with natural resources, including great mineral wealth, vast forests and fertile soils. It is also rich in wildlife and is home to around 460 species of mammal (including bison and mountain lions).
